Roofs gone. Walls split open.

Families are sleeping under tarps tied to whatever is still standing. At the start of October, government repair grants still had not been paid out.

Schools, homes, shops. Gone in seconds.

The August earthquake alone damaged 1,918 schools and education facilities and 44,767 homes. Rebuilding starts one family at a time.

Questions donors ask

Who are you?

Level Earth is an independent group raising money for earthquake survivors in eastern Indonesia. We are not a registered charity.

Where does my money go?

Straight to survivors. Families use it for tarps, food, shelter and materials to rebuild. Stripe's card fee is the only deduction.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

No. Because we are not a registered charity, donations are not tax-deductible.

Is the payment secure?

Yes. Checkout runs on Stripe's hosted payment page, so your card details go to Stripe and never to us. Stripe emails you a receipt.

How do I change or cancel a monthly donation?

Any time. Contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and we'll update or cancel it for you.

Are you part of the government or the police?

No. The officials in our footage are local Indonesian officers, not members of our group, and they do not endorse this appeal. Every photo in the gallery is labelled with where and when it was taken, and who took it.
